Autism... let me begin by saying this... May God Bless the parents of Autistic children for which they take THE VERY best care. The variance in severity is seemingly beyond a "normal" person's comprehension (for clarification... there is also no such thing as a "normal" person). Bummer, if you "think" you are 'normal'.
Autism is admittedly an ambiguous developmental disorder beginning at birth it has various levels of severity, yet ones child appears outwardly to be fine. Ignorance lies within those who know little to nothing about developmental disorders, and ones inability to love another despite who they may be, lack of empathy, or compassion is heartbreaking. Ironically, I heard of a double occurrence in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.... with a young girl named Emily. She has Autism. Notice: I did NOT say she IS anything other than who she is, herself... Emily. Emily is a cute young girl who wants to live life and belong, just like YOU. She appears to the public to look like everyone else. Yet that's where Autism is so sadly misunderstood.
Emily has a service dog which is clearly marked, and yes, this young nine year old, a cute little girl could have wandered off very easily. (Ironically, in a store by the name of "Winners".) Service dogs have THE best training from some of the best people, and they include those once believed to be the dregs of society... ones incarcerated for heinous crimes. Have you ever encountered a service dog while it's working.??? The owners are trained, and the dogs do NOT accept attention or praise. Those dogs are working and there is no time for people to distract them. The owners who depend upon the dogs teach the strangers who know nothing. No big deal, just live and learn. Autism was discovered around 1943. The most severe case is known as Williams Syndrome, still as sweet as can be, yet need close observation and strict routine in their lives. Get them off their schedule in any aspect of their lives, and it's The REAL problem lies within those that consider themselves to be 'normal' and it boils down to "pride". Pride distorts ones perception with reality, thus inhibiting one to see, know or understand others... let alone those with developmental disabilities. Selfish pride is a personality trait that is destructive, self-absorbed, lacks or has the ability to empathize with others, has no compassion for others, and cannot ever be satisfied. When one isn't satisfied, it's impossible to be grateful, nor ever appreciative of others or their existence. Those are qualities a person with developmental disabilities... does NOT embody. Every single human being on this earth desires the same thing... yet something has gone more severely awry since the last time I addressed the issue of developmental disabilities. People are outright losing their minds here in the USA. Adults wanting the wealthy to take care of them... and all are adults, or the age of accountability... that's just bizarre. Far worse than a young girl with a service dog, receiving a gift certificate for mistreatment, going back to use the gift certificate, and being told to leave again because of the service dog. Emily has more spunk and chutzpah than the bizarre freeloading, bamboozled clowns in the USA behaving like animals... worse than untrained dogs and calling it "Occupy something" behaving like barbarians. Our Nation of "adults" is now violent against women, sad, disgusting and humiliating at the same time. I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around America and the current affects of this administration... as I see those in Canada, and elsewhere appear after years of living under Socialism and/or Marxism, to be so much LESS INSANE and BARBARIC as those who CANNOT comprehend the ever changing, and current definition of "liberalism" right here in the US of A. To write about Canadian issues for the cause of Autism. I'm not sure what USA stands for right now. So many "headlines" are so abominable, lascivious, and spun more than yarn. If Barry HUSSEIN Soetoro Obama is elected again by mega bucks, fraudulent votes via South Bend, IN and beyond or cartoon characters, and dead people... we have nowhere to go. America was the LAST great country for any sort of FREEDOM. Emily, and your mother... More power to you~!!! At 9 years old, you go girl~!!!
